   ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ ۝١

   1. The Inevitable Reality

2. Al-Haaqqa 69:2

   مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ ۝٢

   2. What is the Inevitable Reality

3. Al-Haaqqa 69:3

   وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ ۝٣

   3. And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality

4. Al-Haaqqa 69:4

   كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ ۝٤

   4. Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity

5. Al-Haaqqa 69:5

   فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ ۝٥

   5. So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]

6. Al-Haaqqa 69:6

   وَأَمَّا عَادࣱ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحࣲ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةࣲ‏ ۝٦

   6. And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

7. Al-Haaqqa 69:7

   سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالࣲ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومࣰ اۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةࣲ‏ ۝٧

   7. Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees

8. Al-Haaqqa 69:8

   فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةࣲ‏ ۝٨

   8. Then do you see of them any remains

   69:8 Tafsir Copy Share

9. Al-Haaqqa 69:9

   وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ ۝٩

   9. And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin

10. Al-Haaqqa 69:10

    فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةࣰ رَّابِيَةً ۝١٠

    10. And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]

11. Al-Haaqqa 69:11

    إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ ۝١١

    11. Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

12. Al-Haaqqa 69:12

    لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةࣰ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنࣱ وَٰعِيَةࣱ‏ ۝١٢

    12. That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it

13. Al-Haaqqa 69:13

    فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةࣱ وَٰحِدَةࣱ‏ ۝١٣

    13. Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

14. Al-Haaqqa 69:14

    وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ‏ ۝١٤

    14. And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow

15. Al-Haaqqa 69:15

    فَيَوۡمَئِذࣲ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ ۝١٥

    15. Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur

16. Al-Haaqqa 69:16

    وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ وَاهِيَةࣱ‏ ۝١٦

    16. And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm

17. Al-Haaqqa 69:17

    وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ ثَمَٰنِيَةࣱ‏ ۝١٧

    17. And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]

18. Al-Haaqqa 69:18

    يَوۡمَئِذࣲ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةࣱ‏ ۝١٨

    18. That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed

19. Al-Haaqqa 69:19

    فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ ۝١٩

    19. So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record

20. Al-Haaqqa 69:20

    إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ ۝٢٠

    20. Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account

21. Al-Haaqqa 69:21

    فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةࣲ رَّاضِيَةࣲ‏ ۝٢١

    21. So he will be in a pleasant life

22. Al-Haaqqa 69:22

    فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةࣲ‏ ۝٢٢

    22. In an elevated garden

23. Al-Haaqqa 69:23

    قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةࣱ‏ ۝٢٣

    23. Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near

24. Al-Haaqqa 69:24

    كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ ۝٢٤

    24. [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past

25. Al-Haaqqa 69:25

    وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ ۝٢٥

    25. But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record

26. Al-Haaqqa 69:26

    وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ ۝٢٦

    26. And had not known what is my account

27. Al-Haaqqa 69:27

    يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ ۝٢٧

    27. I wish my death had been the decisive one

28. Al-Haaqqa 69:28

    مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ ۝٢٨

    28. My wealth has not availed me

    69:28 Tafsir Copy Share

29. Al-Haaqqa 69:29

    هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ ۝٢٩

    29. Gone from me is my authority

30. Al-Haaqqa 69:30

    خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ۝٣٠

    30. [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him

    69:30 Tafsir Copy Share

31. Al-Haaqqa 69:31

    ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ ۝٣١

    31. Then into Hellfire drive him

    69:31 Tafsir Copy Share

32. Al-Haaqqa 69:32

    ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةࣲ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعࣰ ا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ ۝٣٢

    32. Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him

33. Al-Haaqqa 69:33

    إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ۝٣٣

    33. Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great

34. Al-Haaqqa 69:34

    وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ ۝٣٤

    34. Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor

35. Al-Haaqqa 69:35

    فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمࣱ‏ ۝٣٥

    35. So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend

36. Al-Haaqqa 69:36

    وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينࣲ‏ ۝٣٦

    36. Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds

37. Al-Haaqqa 69:37

    لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ ۝٣٧

    37. None will eat it except the sinners

38. Al-Haaqqa 69:38

    فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣٨

    38. So I swear by what you see

39. Al-Haaqqa 69:39

    وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣٩

    39. And what you do not see

    69:39 Tafsir Copy Share

40. Al-Haaqqa 69:40

    إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولࣲ كَرِيمࣲ‏ ۝٤٠

    40. [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger

41. Al-Haaqqa 69:41

    وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرࣲۚ قَلِيلࣰ ا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٤١

    41. And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe

42. Al-Haaqqa 69:42

    وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنࣲۚ قَلِيلࣰ ا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٢

    42. Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember

    69:42 Tafsir Copy Share

43. Al-Haaqqa 69:43

    تَنزِيلࣱ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٤٣

    43. [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds

44. Al-Haaqqa 69:44

    وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ ۝٤٤

    44. And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings

    69:44 Tafsir Copy Share

45. Al-Haaqqa 69:45

    لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ ۝٤٥

    45. We would have seized him by the right hand

    69:45 Tafsir Copy Share

46. Al-Haaqqa 69:46

    ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ ۝٤٦

    46. Then We would have cut from him the aorta

    69:46 Tafsir Copy Share

47. Al-Haaqqa 69:47

    فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ ۝٤٧

    47. And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him

    69:47 Tafsir Copy Share

48. Al-Haaqqa 69:48

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةࣱ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ ۝٤٨

    48. And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous

49. Al-Haaqqa 69:49

    وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٩

    49. And indeed, We know that among you are deniers

50. Al-Haaqqa 69:50

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ۝٥٠

    50. And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers

51. Al-Haaqqa 69:51

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ۝٥١

    51. And indeed, it is the truth of certainty

    69:51 Tafsir Copy Share

52. Al-Haaqqa 69:52

    فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ۝٥٢

    52. So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great

    69:52 Tafsir Copy Share
