What should I do after a bad dream or nightmare in Islam? The Prophet ﷺ said good dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from Shaitan. After a bad dream, spit lightly (without saliva) three times to your left, seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan and from the dream's evil, turn over onto your other side, and do not tell anyone about it; then it will not harm you. You may also get up and pray.
