سُوْرَةُ الْقَمَرِ

1. Al-Qamar 54:1

   ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ ۝١

   1. The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]

2. Al-Qamar 54:2

   وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةࣰ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرࣱ مُّسۡتَمِرࣱّ‏ ۝٢

   2. And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic

3. Al-Qamar 54:3

   وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرࣲ مُّسۡتَقِرࣱّ‏ ۝٣

   3. And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement

4. Al-Qamar 54:4

   وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ ۝٤

   4. And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence

5. Al-Qamar 54:5

   حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةࣱۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ ۝٥

   5. Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]

6. Al-Qamar 54:6

   فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءࣲ نُّكُرٍ ۝٦

   6. So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding

7. Al-Qamar 54:7

   خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادࣱ مُّنتَشِرࣱ‏ ۝٧

   7. Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading

8. Al-Qamar 54:8

   مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرࣱ‏ ۝٨

   8. Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day

9. Al-Qamar 54:9

   ۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحࣲ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونࣱ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ ۝٩

   9. The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled

10. Al-Qamar 54:10

    فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبࣱ فَٱنتَصِرۡ ۝١٠

    10. So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help

11. Al-Qamar 54:11

    فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءࣲ مُّنۡهَمِرࣲ‏ ۝١١

    11. Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down

12. Al-Qamar 54:12

    وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونࣰ ا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرࣲ قَدۡ قُدِرَ ۝١٢

    12. And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined

13. Al-Qamar 54:13

    وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحࣲ وَدُسُرࣲ‏ ۝١٣

    13. And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails

14. Al-Qamar 54:14

    تَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءࣰ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ ۝١٤

    14. Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied

15. Al-Qamar 54:15

    وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةࣰ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝١٥

    15. And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember

16. Al-Qamar 54:16

    فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝١٦

    16. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

17. Al-Qamar 54:17

    وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝١٧

    17. And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

18. Al-Qamar 54:18

    كَذَّبَتۡ عَادࣱ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝١٨

    18. Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning

19. Al-Qamar 54:19

    إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحࣰ ا صَرۡصَرࣰ ا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسࣲ مُّسۡتَمِرࣲّ‏ ۝١٩

    19. Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune

20. Al-Qamar 54:20

    تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلࣲ مُّنقَعِرࣲ‏ ۝٢٠

    20. Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted

21. Al-Qamar 54:21

    فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝٢١

    21. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

22. Al-Qamar 54:22

    وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝٢٢

    22. And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

23. Al-Qamar 54:23

    كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝٢٣

    23. Thamud denied the warning

24. Al-Qamar 54:24

    فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرࣰ ا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدࣰ ا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذࣰ ا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلࣲ وَسُعُرٍ ۝٢٤

    24. And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness

25. Al-Qamar 54:25

    أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرࣱ‏ ۝٢٥

    25. Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar

26. Al-Qamar 54:26

    سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدࣰ ا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ ۝٢٦

    26. They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar

27. Al-Qamar 54:27

    إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةࣰ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ ۝٢٧

    27. Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient

28. Al-Qamar 54:28

    وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبࣲ مُّحۡتَضَرࣱ‏ ۝٢٨

    28. And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]

29. Al-Qamar 54:29

    فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ۝٢٩

    29. But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]

30. Al-Qamar 54:30

    فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝٣٠

    30. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

31. Al-Qamar 54:31

    إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ۝٣١

    31. Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen

32. Al-Qamar 54:32

    وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝٣٢

    32. And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

33. Al-Qamar 54:33

    كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝٣٣

    33. The people of Lot denied the warning

34. Al-Qamar 54:34

    إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطࣲۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرࣲ‏ ۝٣٤

    34. Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn

35. Al-Qamar 54:35

    نِّعۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ ۝٣٥

    35. As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful

36. Al-Qamar 54:36

    وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝٣٦

    36. And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning

37. Al-Qamar 54:37

    وَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝٣٧

    37. And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning

38. Al-Qamar 54:38

    وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابࣱ مُّسۡتَقِرࣱّ‏ ۝٣٨

    38. And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment

39. Al-Qamar 54:39

    فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ۝٣٩

    39. So taste My punishment and warning

40. Al-Qamar 54:40

    وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝٤٠

    40. And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

41. Al-Qamar 54:41

    وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ ۝٤١

    41. And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning

42. Al-Qamar 54:42

    كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزࣲ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ ۝٤٢

    42. They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability

43. Al-Qamar 54:43

    أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرࣱ مِّنۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةࣱ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ ۝٤٣

    43. Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture

44. Al-Qamar 54:44

    أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعࣱ مُّنتَصِرࣱ‏ ۝٤٤

    44. Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]

45. Al-Qamar 54:45

    سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ ۝٤٥

    45. [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]

46. Al-Qamar 54:46

    بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ۝٤٦

    46. But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter

47. Al-Qamar 54:47

    إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلࣲ وَسُعُرࣲ‏ ۝٤٧

    47. Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness

48. Al-Qamar 54:48

    يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ۝٤٨

    48. The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar

49. Al-Qamar 54:49

    إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرࣲ‏ ۝٤٩

    49. Indeed, all things We created with predestination

50. Al-Qamar 54:50

    وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةࣱ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ ۝٥٠

    50. And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye

51. Al-Qamar 54:51

    وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ‏ ۝٥١

    51. And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember

52. Al-Qamar 54:52

    وَكُلُّ شَيۡءࣲ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ ۝٥٢

    52. And everything they did is in written records

53. Al-Qamar 54:53

    وَكُلُّ صَغِيرࣲ وَكَبِيرࣲ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ ۝٥٣

    53. And every small and great [thing] is inscribed

54. Al-Qamar 54:54

    إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتࣲ وَنَهَرࣲ‏ ۝٥٤

    54. Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers

55. Al-Qamar 54:55

    فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكࣲ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ ۝٥٥

    55. In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability
